Value Creation
The last two decades have seen an explosive increase in the number of Type 2 Diabetes patients, currently approaching 7% of the general population*. Many diabetics go undiagnosed. Delayed or inadequate treatment exposes them to severe complications like coronary artery disease, retinopathies, nephropathies. Genetic predispositions to the various observed phenotypes of the disease exist. Predictive molecular testing will support earlier diagnosis and timely individualized prophylaxis and/or therapy. This new vector of diagnostic testing will have an enormous positive impact on controlling healthcare costs.

Project Status
IntegraGen has identified several novel genes associated with different aspects of the disease, and is developing disease stratification models based on genetic profiling.
Strategic Alliances
IntegraGen has and continues to collaborate with leading clinical centers in the U.S. and Europe. We are partners in two of the largest EU-sponsored projects on diabetes genetics. Furthermore, our strategic alliance with DSM includes projects exploring individualized responses to nutrients and nutraceuticals.
