Our novel technology, GenomeHIP™ is at the core of our IP strategy. Over 20M Euro of venture capital funding have been obtained to exploit this technology. To date, IntegraGen has translated this technology into 22 patent applications. In addition, IntegraGen has in-licenced genes, and partnered, to bring the firm to the brink of its first GenomeHIP™ derived commercial product.

GenomeHIP™ Technology

Our proprietary gene mapping technology GenomeHIP™ provides fast, reliable, and cost-effective discovery of genetic loci. While useful in identifying genes associated with monogenic diseases, the power of GenomeHIP™ is truly realized in polygenic complex diseases. The technology is particular powerful with late onset disease, where parental DNA samples may be difficult or impossible to obtain. This validated approach relies on isolation of identical-by-descent regions from relative-pairs sharing the same disease. When paired with fine mapping techniques and bioinformatics expertise, GenomeHIP™  has enabled IntegraGen to identify, confirm, and patent protect genes associated with complex diseases including diabetes, obesity, bi-polar disorder, and autism. IntegraGen’s proprietary GenomeHIP™ technology is made available via Strategic Partnership Agreements

What makes it so unique ?

  • Applicable to any familial pedigree structure, does not rely on parental genotypes or samples
  • High power with a few hundred paired samples
  • Physical loci determination
  • Robust in late-onset disease association studies
  • Low false positive rate as compared to genome wide association scans
  • Quick and cost efficient (study completed in 2-3 months
  • High accuracy (> 90+% real positives)
