Senior Director, Genomics

Dr. Rousseau joined Integragen in 2002. As a head of all the laboratories, he develops high-throughput platforms for genotyping (SNPlex®; Illumina®).

Dr. Rousseau has worked in both small entrepreneurial biotechnology as well as large pharmaceutical firms. Most recently as Director of Genotyping at GenOdyssee, he led the set up of the ISO 9000 high-throughput SNP genotyping facility.

Dr. Rousseau also worked as a researcher at Aventis Pharma, where he constructed and managed a team investigating the genetics of complex traits such as schizophrenia, Bi-Polar and Parkinson's diseases. He has also worked at INSERM U393, directed by Professor Arnold Munnich. Dr. Rousseau received his PhD (with Honors) and Masters (with Honors) in Human Genetics from the University of Pierre and Marie Curie, for his work on the localization and identification of a gene responsible for dysmorphic dwarfism (Achondroplasia, Hypochondroplasia and thanatophoric dwarfism).

Dr Bernard Courtieu spoke at the 3rd Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Industry in Barcelona. Date : November 5th, 2009.

His presentation focused on new approaches and business models to innovation for biotech markets.

9 june 2009 : Bernard Courtieu, CEO of IntegraGen, attended the AMIPS* conference on "Drug development for personalised medicine". His presentation focused on biomarkers development for Neurology.
