This disorder, also known as Manic-Depressive Illness, affects roughly 3 to 4 % of the adult population. It is expressed as a number of subtypes with variable responses to medical treatment. There is currently no reliable diagnosis.  A molecular profiling test better able to characterization the disease will enable selected and individualized therapy.

IntegraGen has determined various chromosomal regions that are highly significantly linked to bi-polar disorder.  Partners are sought to bring to market a commercial product.

IntegraGen has privileged access to National Institute of Mental Health patient collections.
